This Collection illustrates my take on John Galliano taking over for Martin Margiela at Maison Martin Margiela. I approached this project as a take on Children's couture wear inspired by the 1920's. I was inspired by the ritzy, party lifestyle that the Great Gatsby encompasses. I incorporated extravagant elements in the collection such as, Ostrich feather shoulder pieces, velvet coats with fur collars, and diamond bow ties. I focused mostly on children's wear but also added a few adult garments. I created a "family affair" so to speak in that I created matching child/parent assembles for this "Party of the Century". The collection illustrates an imaginative, over the top take on Galliano couture mindset. I included some of my preliminary work that demonstrates my process; which includes sketches, color and fabric experimentation, and mind mapping.
