Challenge: Create an engaging publication on philosophy, to be distributed at the Past and Present lecture series event.
Outline: We were asked to submit proposals for the event that captures the spirit of ‘The Past and Present best lectures’ (transcripts of the lectures,biographies and quotes were included, but we could add our own material as well). It would be aimed at the people attending the event, but also to other key individuals and interested parties, and will therefore open up the market to a wider audience.
Solution: The real challenge with this project was maintaining the balance between it being an academic, serious topic - as well as being available and intriguing for everyone, which meant that the visuals had to be refreshing and exciting in order for the reader to remain engaged (wether he/she's an academic or not), and at the same time don't withdraw attention from the subject. I have included a glossary at the top of the transcripts, as well as occasional 'Greet & Meet' spreads, where the reader gets the opportunity to immerce themselves further into mentioned philosophers from the transcripts.
