The project involved an existing building, in Nicosia, which consisted of 3 wings, ran by individual founders. The main objective of the project was to upgrade and refurbish the whole building complex, in order to provide safety and comfort to the residents. The proposed works included re-planning of the residents’ rooms, to include independent facilities for every room, and improvements to the circulation areas, as well as additions and modifications to other areas. The proposed designs for the central wing of the building complex included an entrance lobby, waiting area, offices, medical treatment/first aid room and the kitchen. On either side of the central wing are the residents rooms with newly added external recreation areas. The existing building structure had not been preserved in a long time and required extensions and improvements to meet the present living standards and building regulations. The design drawings included plans, sections, elevations (both existing and proposed), as well as extensive construction detailing.
