Inspirations & References
My inspiration is from a story of the second emperor of Chinese Tang Dynasty - Li Shimin. He used to be a arrogant person when he was young. He killed people if there was a reason. While he getting older, he sometimes felt regret about it. He thought some people may do not deserve to die. Therefore, everytime he thought about that,he would light up an everburning lamp.

Lamps are the most important parts in my scene. In case to get the right feeling of the light,I explored different ways to achieve it. I added light sources inside lamps and make the color in yellow.As for the final result, I put the paper texture and figure contour in one image and used it as the surface color. I also increased the transparency and a little translucency. However, when light pass the paper, it'll blur the figure shape. Therefore, I used only the figure alpha channel as a diffuse mix map. It got the effect I am satisfied.
