TERRA SECA
A documental about the Sertão, a vast semi-arid region in the brazilians northeastern where the water is scarce and the desertic landscape is predominant. Ironically imagine that just a few hours away are the sea and the most beautiful beaches in the southern hemisphere. The sertanejo (a kind of Brazilian cowboy), a man of dry land (terra seca), fight every day since time immemorial for water and livelihoods ensured basics but not abundant, due to low rainfall and temperatures exorbitant . The following is a photographic essay I made during a week that was exploring the dust and the most barren plains of my country.
