I’m working on a series of illustrations that will be featuring many types of the bicyclists in New York City area, based on my personal observation. I will be posting them here and on
my blog about the bicycling culture of NYC.
This is exatly the type of a guy New York City was aiming at when introducing the citi bike share program - a corporate guy. This is the guy who wants to ride this bike. He either: a) has a gym at (or nearby) his office building he belongs to with a shower, b) he is the family guy with no time to work out, so he uses the citi bike to both commute and as his daily exercise, c) he’s the one who’d rather sweat a bit in his dress clothes rather than ride a train with a homeless person, d) he could be a european expat. Either way, he couldn’t wait for the bike to make its way into his daily routine which he doesn’t have to store in his a not-so-spacious apartment as it is. This guy usually wears a bike helmet and biker gloves, but don’t expect him to wear any other bike specific attire. He usually rides the citi bike in his office clothes, but he might have a spare shirt in his north face backpack with a neatly packed at home lunch and snackbar.
