As part of L.L.Bean's graphics team, I got the exciting opportunity to design the graphic treatment for the 2014 L.L.Bean/Red Sox World Series Champions Commemorative Boat and Tote. The tote was made from the 2013 rain delay tarp that covered the field during the World Series year for the Sox.
Limited release in the Northeast (even I had to wait in line to get one!).
We focused the design work off our itinial sketches from the World Series boot emblem we designed at the beginning. From there, and espeically once we were able to use official Red Sox logos, we developed further to land something that would work well for the side of the tote and show the partnership between L.L.Bean and the Red Sox on this project. We went forward with the diamond design and looked at different color placements until the group chose the end result. Embroidered and made in Brunswick, Maine.
