Step 1 - Creating a base layer: I created a new layer by using Adobe Illustrator (300pt by 300pt).
Step 2 - Frame: I created the base frame border by using Adobe Illustrator and sketched puppy paws and used it to populate my border.
Step 3 - Theme and Front Pages: The main theme of my work “Seven Great Dog Breeds” - I typed my main theme by using the Type Tool and used ‘Helvetica-bold’ and sketched the Scooby head by using Pen and Bamboo pad.
Step 4 - Converting images to Vector Graphics: I used Illustrator to change images into Vector Graphics. The process starts by selecting the image by using the Selection Tool and then I used the Image Trace option and selected the High Fidelity Photo option. Once the tracing process is completed and the image is processed, then I click the Expand button to convert the expand object into past.
Step 5 - Manipulating the images further: Converting pictures by using different Artistic Brushes and Effect Tools - I used the royalty free sample pictures that I downloaded from the web and modified them by using Effect Gallery - and then different Artistic brushes. This tool enabled me to create more drawing and artistic effects in my images and they showed significant differences from the original pictures.
Step 6 - Details on each slide along with the illustrations and mofified images: - I typed the information that I found on each dog breeds and used the Type Tool and used ‘Helvetica-bold’, black color, size - 21.
Step 7 - Merging seven slides and front cover in Adobe Photoshop: I selected the base layer and one slide at a time using Toggles Visibility tool and copied the images from Adobe Illustrator to Adobe Photoshop. Each slide was saved as a smart object so that I can do the free transform in order to align them in a suitable manner in my US Paper size Photoshop layer.
Step 8 - Finally, I saved all eight slides as JPEG images.
