This project began with the challenge to create a creature that was a blend of different animals - something recognizable, but strange and unique at the same time. The challenge that was presented was to create this sort of a creature within one week, using Adobe Photoshop and any stock imagery that I could find. Although I considered using many animals, I knew that I wanted to go with something that would be bright, colourful and really different. I finally settled on the lemur because I am rather fond of them and the feathers of the macaw because they are so vibrant and beautiful. Luckily, my original vision worked out and I did not have to change my course throughout the project.
The whole project was created using Photoshop both for photo manipulation as well as the application of realism through brushes and paint layers.
