Placing 3D in a photo- To create 3D text, I began with choosing a background to lay my text on. A beachy scene seemed appropriate, and then I chose the word serenity because that's what the scene evoked. Using the text tool, I wrote the word out and then went under the 3D menu to extrude from the selected layer to make the letters 3D. Then I opened the 3D panel, and I dragged the word up a little bit. I then set the extrusion depth to 25 in the 3D panel. Under Image based light in the panel, I chose new texture which I copied. In the properties panel, I adjusted the shine, reflection, and roughness. I then diffused the color on the sides of the word to separate the letters from the background. I clicked on split extrusion in the 3D menu and I was able to individually adjust each letter.
