This poster was for an assignment my digital art and design class. I chose to do Hellboy because, well, he's a badass. I decided to focus on his face mainly because it is the most iconic part of him. The main reason for using only half his face is it gives a rather intimidating feel to the poster. Though he's rough around the edges (literally and figureatively), Hellboy has good intentions and a superb sense of humor. His character shows how what we see on the outside rarely matches the inside. Though the face is mainly one colour, the thick line work gives it shape and value. The simplicty in the design helps draw the eye to the main points of the face. The lettering for the title is the original Hellboy font with a colour change. Fin
