Another skillshare project for the ages! This time for the legendary Aaron Draplin, no less. The brief was to create a family crest. My last name is Christians, and most of my heritage comes from Northern German descent. I come from a long line of farmers, myself included. Working hard is what we do best!
My resarch started with my family tree over a year earlier. I initally liked the idea of incorporating barn into the shield so I found my idyllic barn and went to work.
Above and below you can see me playing around with the farming theme and going through the refinement process.
After landing on a design, I went right into color... Are you feeling it yet?
The mostly final version. I have yet to put it on a shirt or mug or something but I feel good about the direction.
