Martyr Cities

Martyr Cities
In the beginning of WWI, Belgium was invaded by German troops, with the cities of Aarschot, Leuven and Dendermonde suffering heavy casualties and serious damages. A century after, these three places, known as 'Martyr Cities', organised an event to commemorate the tragic history.
Seesaw joined forces with Mr. Beam to create a projection mapping show as a highlight of the event. The 8-minute work centres on humans, the core part of the war, with the art direction inspired by the then war propaganda. Stirring scenes of the war were represented by stylised visuals on the facade of a rebuilt architecture.
