1 in 8 Has a Mental Illness/Disease
A mental disorder or mental illness is a psychological or behavioral pattern generally associated with distress or disability that occurs in an individual, andwhich is not a part of normal development or culture. One in eight New Yorkers has amental illness (including depression, anxiety, etc). Many people who have amental disorder or illness are unaware and do not receive treatment or they areaware but treatment is not within their means. One’s mental health is as serious as one’sphysical health. This project aims to show how mental illness is prevalent inNYC and its effect on one’s overall health through multiple visual designoutputs using the appropriate visual language and graphic elements.
