This poster and animation were created to showcase Dalliance by digital type foundry Emigre. The typeface is based on the elegant handwriting found on a map of the battle of 1799 between the Habsburg Coalition and France. The idea behind the folded poster was to mimic the concept of a folded map, in which the main inspiration for the creation of the font was first encountered.
