Arroyo Tenorio

I feel quite fortunate to live in one of the older parts of Santa Fe,
where often it feels more like living in a village than a city.

Half a block from my casita is the five-way intersection of
Acequia Madre, Garcia Street, and Arroyo Tenorio.
Photo Eye Bookstore is on this corner and Canyon Road is a block away.

Arroyo Tenorio is a dirt road that veers off at a roughly forty-five degree
angle, running southwest for less than a quarter mile where it dead ends
at Old Santa Fe Trail. About half down this short trail, it becomes One Way.

I walk this route often on my way to the neighborhood market.
A month ago I began to make photos of this short stretch of dirt road with
my iPhone. Here are a few of my favorites.

I had long assumed "Tenorio" was the proper name of a local family . . . an
online search informed me otherwise. It seems 'Tenorio' translates as
ladies' man or Don Juan. Giving me a laugh, and this project one more layer.
