Small, America
A Self Directed Gallery Exhibition
A culture is more than buildings and streets, it is the community of people and how they relate to each other and their surroundings. For my undergraduate thesis project I designed a series of posters that reflect the ideals of community in small town America. The underlying theme comes from New Urbanism concepts and from Ray Oldenburg's book The Great Good Place where he describes the "Third Place". The "Third Place" is neither home (first place) nor work (second place) but is the areas where communities come together in a social and safe environment. The exhibit SMALL, AMERICA is an abstracted small town created with design, ink and paper.

Below are pictures from the exhibition. There are also images of each of the posters reformatted for easier online viewing.
