Whether communicating with a hard of hearing or a deaf person is often approach not as a luxury but as a need; it can seem as intimidating as learning any other language. It is hard for anyone to communicate in an emergency situation. Yet it is even harder when the case requires interaction with a deaf person. The goal of this project was to create a simple yet useful guide that teaches emergency medical personnel the basics of American Sign Language.
