Project Summary
The Pool Automation project was an internal project aimed at building a web app for the HR team to assist them in managing resourcing and pool in Globallogic. The brief was to enable them to view a weekly/monthly/annual report of how the allocation of resources are shaping up and whether they need to take necessary actions to improve the same. The relevant members of the higher management should also be able to view the resource allocations in different GL location as well.
The application was designed to have 4 main sections basis the requirement from the tool-
1. The Dashboard - To give an overall picture of the pool allocation
2. Pool report - To get deep dive weekly information about the pool allocation with resource details
3. Resource History - To know an individual's history allocation history
Dashboard
- Consolidated snapshot view of the Current Week’s Pool Report and the Overall Pool Trend
- The Pool Trend can be viewed for various permutations like Monthly Pool Trend of India / Weekly Pool Trend
- Interactive Graphs showing weekly/monthly/annual trend and resource aging.
- Toggle between Graphical / Tabular view
- Quick links corresponding to each data to view detailed resource information.

Pool Report
- Categorization of the pool report in 4 main sections namely – Weekly Snapshot, Resource Details, Pool (+) and Pool (-)
- Division of the Resource details into Primary (viewed most often) and Secondary information (viewed in few cases)
- Minimal information overload by providing only most important information upfront.
- Faster editing by providing an Excel format with inline editing
- Resource Notes history for each individual to track the changes done.

Resource History
- Pool History of the resource on a timeline gives a clear picture of the resource movement in and out of the pool
- The current pool details will be displayed in detail to the user, upfront.
- Enables the editing of pool details
- Easy to know the past allocation of the resource (when he moved out of Pool)
