This artwork was created in my first year of university, I worked with silk organsa and organic dyes, which created the natural rich rustic colour. I created the pattern on the material by wrapping the material around the plastic poles and fastening them with elastic bands, this created the different tones within the material.
I then covered them around the poles once again and painted them with starch glue, this allowed the material to take the shape of the poles without dropping. When assembling the artwork I wanted to create a chaos of colour and movement, to reflect the environment. All the materials I used within the artwork were organic I wanted the artwork to reflect back on its environment.
