I created this illuminated sculpture with a team of three for Prysmian Company's design competition, the prompt being to use excess material given to us by the Prysmian Company to creat a work of art. When we were in the ideation phase, we were really inspired by the way this company invests in sustainability so we began looking for things that carried on the theme of not letting things go to waste. One idea that stuck out to us was the lotus. In our piece, we’re aiming to capture the process of taking something that has such a harshly negative connotation as “industrial waste” and giving it a new life.
