As part of our progress towards the final for my Digital Media II class, we had to start out with drawing 10 thumbnails for the environment, without any characters. (Silhouettes to indicate scale was allowed though.)

I also complied a large sheet of references and inspirations. 

After next week's class, I will probably have a more finalized version, or a work in progress of the final version, in terms of line work. 

I gathered more references, specifically those with long vine like roots. (Mangroves, bayon and vine trees)

Also gathered a few other artists' versions of swamps for color palettes. 

Finalized the swamp design and colored both of them with different lighting and colors. 

More references! Witch doctor references from Princess & The Frog and Pirates of the Carribean. 

 

Added more blues into the greens and greens into the blues. I tried toning down the moonlight in the blue colored verison. Both colored versions have witch doctor elements added in.
