Ab ovo is a tapestry project executed in the classic tapestry weaving technique with additional use of various experimental textures, using a combination of natural and synthetic fibers. The idea behind Ab ovo is to capture the image of organic life bursting into the world out of the vast emptiness of space, utilizing the visual and tactile qualities of the techniques and materials used to create a rich palette of textures, colors and movement. The composition, the use of color and tone creates a 3D effect in order to further immerse the viewers into the idea of Ab ovo, inviting them to step inside and witness the birth of all life.

 

The tapestry measures 220 x 330 cm (approx. 86,5 x 130 in).
