is my entry to the competition "Concrete in Design" launched by Italcementi in collaboration with Alessi.

 

The task was to design a center piece and decorate it using texture, graphics, patterns and low relief ornaments to highlight the properties of i.design EFFIX, the mortar developed by Italcementi for design needs. 

 

After extensive ideation, I came up with the idea of a Platter as a centerpiece. The form of the platter is kept simple to highlight and complement the properties of i.design EFFIX mortar in the form of the smooth surface of the platter, perforated pattern on the removable separator, and the low relief and colored low relief pattern on the outer walls of the platter.
