"The new Reebok Delta symbol represents the positive and transformative change that fitness can have on a person’s life.” Reebok is supporting a change in one’s life, making that change and having the strength to get up every morning and change the world by first changing themself. Just like Reebok’s new motivation to embrace change, my concept for this collection relates to the adaption of change. “When you think about the natural world, nature outperforms us in it’s diversity, in it’s complexity...” nature has a hold of what we are able to do that day and limits us to achieving personal goals. I wanted to create a collection that could have the Reebok customer prepared for any type of climate change.

I was inspired by bio mimicry and the bioluminescence that derive from jellyfish and mushrooms and the idea to create the same glowing effect but translating it to trees. The trees would illuminate the streets so that there would no longer be a use for street lights. Taking elements from the bioluminescence and applying them into the garments with neon piping and reflective fabrics creates the glowing affect. I also developed a print by water coloring over a piece of mesh fabric, which created a texture and a camouflage inspired textile. I used fabrics that were for a utilitarian purpose, but also could be worn for casual wear.

I combined Reebok’s aesthetic of embracing the individuality and diversity of their customer and combined my aesthetic of urban wear prints and street wear to create a collection that could be worn running errands or going on a run. Multifunctional pieces were my main focus, garments that the athlete could wear to work out or the trend setter as statement pieces.
