The Passage of TIME

Acknowledge

There I was chilling on the top of a hill -
More of a mountain, looking out onto the sea
The power-boats and gin palaces below-
Were skimming the sea and making a wake
That in turn caused the swell in the sea-
Mediterranean Sea.

And as the sun went down that day, this realisation grew;
to acknowledge.
Acknowledge the fact the planet affects and we in the planet effect.
 Acknowledge this:
The boats have effect upon the sea
The sun has effect upon me
I have effect upon you
You have effect upon them
They have effect upon us.

At the crown of the hill, like a jewel in the crown
There sat a rock chateau, from the medieval times.
And there in its ancient gardens, I looked out to sea
I thought of all the people, who had sat there before me
That 100’s of years ago, someone did something –
In a way, for me.

There I sat transfixed by the stunning setting sun
Happy to salute it, but thinking wait, it’s a hydrogen bomb.
A bomb that definitely one day will implode
Sat here one day saluting it; on another day, slain by it..
And as I gazed around that hill, that place, that time, I saw…I’d caused an effect -
To the people, around me.

And as the sun went down that day, this realisation grew ...
to acknowledge.
Acknowledge the fact the planet affects and we in the planet effect.
 Acknowledge this:
The boats have effect upon the sea
The sun has effect upon me
I have effect upon you
You have effect upon them
They have effect upon us.

The Passage of ... TIME

The cyclical nature of it all.....
This photo has absolutely nothing to do per se with the poem ... Its more in keeping with the passing of time.
Like it was yesterday, when I took it...spending some time with a friend....and it's also sun-set time... it's pretty breathtaking and very very bright...Unusual & lovely time of day.
                                                                   TIME

Sometimes, nay, - in fact, many a time,
Old man, Father Time as such decrees -
That Time waits for no man, not even his family.

It's at times as these, that family realize,
What the meaning of Time really is.
And just how quickly Time fritters away.

Regardless of age, irrespective of class
Time makes no distinction to those we love -
And will take whomever, whenever, for ever and ever.

Such is the dogma; such is the lesson of Time -
There is just one message we should employ,

Love few, but love deep and enjoy your short Time.
