My original linework was painted traditionally with ink. Then scanned and colored with photoshop.
Here's the sketch of the foxgloves from my sketchbook with a colorstudy done in watercolors.
After cleaning up the linework, I place local colors within the lines to aid with the painting process. Ontop of the layers of local colors I add in textures and more colors to create more depth and interest, which can be seen in the final piece.
