Since 2009, Ford F-150 has done well with what has coined as the "Rant" spots, where the hard-edged machismo voice of Dennis Leary takes us through a dizzying flurry of see-say visuals that boast America's best-selling truck. Five years later, I had the great opportunity of working with Team Detroit in tying the final bow in a highly successful campaign that has lasted 5 years.
This campaign, Ford Dynasty, was timed with their annual Built Ford Tough Sales Event during football season. The challenge was to infuse their graphic language with the theme of football.
I directed a team of about 15 artists, from designers, compositors, 2D/3D animators, storyboard artists, and producers. In the production phase, we designed 96 frames in 3 days. Since the trucks were cg, there was an intense amount of communication between 2D and 3D. Everyone was amazing and I'm glad to have worked with everyone.
