Wood Off-Cut Screen

A range of modular screens developed using wooden offcut pieces. Extensive exploration was done with the wooden reclaimed offcut pieces to generate patterns that could be incorporated into the design of a screen.
The patterns have been designed to include any kind and size of wood.
There is also a play in levels and layers to add interest.
The offcut pieces are a mix of a variety of woods including - Burma Teak, Sheesham, Sudan Teak, White Ash, Sal and Meranti. The amalgamation of these various woods together produces an effect that is rich in colour, texture and feel. The rawness of the natural wood is enhanced and the patterns add value to the scrap material. This product demonstrates an exercise in generating wealth from waste.
The screen has been designed as a modular system which can be customized according to the needs of the client and the space requirements. A frame made in Meranti wood is used to house the patterns. The frame size has been kept standard and multiple units of this size can be used to create larger screens of varying sizes.
