Flow and movement of the hair was the central idea, allowing the negative shapes created by the hair to create the design throughout the image as well. This piece is an expansion from a previous project, I felt other elements in the previous piece were distracting towards what I wanted to be the main focus, her expression and her hair.  

Tattoos are a symbol for self expression, this piece aims to reflect the layering of tattoos and how they are an extension of ones self. How each time one adds another tattoo it changes the whole canvas and becomes something else as well, alone a tattoo means one thing, but as a whole means another. 

I have always loved the mythology of angels and demons. Combining the human form with wings embraces a side of elegance and power that everyone has dreamed of. I approached this mini series with the thought of having both a dark and light side be present in their appearance, as well as allowing both sides equal ownership over the canvas; showing how we all have a dark side as well as light side.
