ELGA Final Project: Creative Documentary Poster
In Candelaria, Zambales resides the tedious tradition of laruk-laruk, the process of separating, toasting, and pounding unhusked rice or palay in order to make other varieties of dishes, notably Tinupak.
With farming as one of the Candelarians main livelihood, laruk-laruk was born as a symbol of the townsfolks ingenuity and camaraderie, as they gather early in the morning to begin making it.
As the years go by, laruk-laruk and tinupak is slowly being forgotten, which is why it is up to us to keep this tradition alive by educating pur fellow Filipinos on these traditional products through the use of visual imagery and graphic design.
