THE FOUR LOVES -- LOVE OF EROS

The theme of my project is ‘The Four Loves - Love of Eros’. This project was inspired by reading C.S. Lewis‘s book ‘The Four Loves’ and my understanding of Wunderkammer. I chose the third of the Four Loves - Love of Eros - as the entry point, and combined it with my own practical experience to visualise the 11 relationship experiences I had according to time, state, emotion, and story, and produce a work that combines book design, installation design, and multimedia design. This book is my Wunderkammer, and these visual slices will become the large and small exhibits, presented in the book. I have merged my ideas with Deleuze’s ‘tuberous and nomadic’ as explained in ‘A Thousand Plateaus’, exploring ‘art-generation’ while reflecting on the past and experimenting with my visual experiments. Therefore, I have explored my work in a modular and generative way that is independent and interchangeable. The interior pages of the books can be reorganised, connected and formed into many shapes, just as the organisation of memory is constantly iterating, and the understanding of love is like the generation and metabolism of a cell. For the dynamic posters, I build on the book, reorganising elements, iterating, and trying to explore ‘the tuber as an infinite plane, fluid and discrete’.
