Premier investment banking and wealth management company Oppenheimer & Co. welcomed William Bird as its new director of equity research in April 2024. Before assuming this position, Bird served as Oppenheimer’s managing director and head of thematic research.

In a statement about Bird’s new assignment, Oppenheimer senior managing director and head of equities John Hellier expressed his confidence in Bird’s vision, expertise, and management style to build on what his predecessor, John Parks, has achieved in his 25 years of serving the company as director of equity research. He added that Bird can harness the quality and breadth of the equity research team going forward.

Bird brings 33 years of experience as an analyst, portfolio manager, and strategic consultant to Oppenheimer's equity research team. Commenting on his appointment as director of equity research, Bird felt honored to lead the equity research group. He expressed his commitment to developing innovative strategies that would enhance Oppenheimer’s platform in the future.
