For this assignment, I chose my dad as my inspiration. The reason I chose him is because he is the person who instilled in me a great appreciation for art and a creative mindset in all areas of my life. My dad was always drawing growing up, so when he noticed that I also enjoyed drawing and creating things, he was happy to help me develop my skills and love for art. So, growing up, he would always give me drawing materials, like sketchbooks, crayon boxes, pencils, and pens, just so that I could further develop my creativity and art. But then one day he took me to buy Legos, and this is when I really developed my creative thinking. I would create small sets with my Legos and create stories in my head, and whenever he could, my dad would also help me create a set and story with me. This bond between Legos and my dad's influence on my artistic journey is what led me to incorporate them into this assignment. One of the first stories we created was inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean because of how much we enjoyed the movie, so to honor that memory, I chose to make my set about pirates.
