My World of a Dream

The World of Electric Dreams
This final project consisted of the producer, me, creating a fun website about the origins of electronic music and other news about the genre. This idea was birthed as my love for electronic music has always been inconceivable and I wanted to create a website to even inform me of the history of my passion. For this project, I had to research the history and since electronic music started in the last 100 or so years, this history is not lost and existing accurately. The colors are inspired by rave events and cyber-like colors encompassing the techno and techy like sounds affiliated with the genre. This project is meaningful to me as I can have the opportunity to submerse myself in the true roots of electronic music. This is knowledge that I will have for life. It is also an opportunity to inform curious EDM lovers of the history of their genre.
Mood Board for Final
As one can notice my mood board includes the type of feeling I was trying to invoke in this website. There was a great amount of trial and error in creating these visions. Initial designs were carefully considered by me and the professor, and when appropriate, were tweaked or completely made over to achieve this feeling. Initial designs included the logo on the cover page, and the "Electronic Scene" test design was made over three times before I eventually appreciated it. Each page was scrutinized to my potential of achieving such vibe. It was in my nature of rediscovering elements that would fit better and releasing those that did not in my website. For example, the font. I eventually decided with three type faces. I utilized EB Garamond for the majority of my text, as this type face was appealing to me and my vision. I used Azaret Mono for headings because of the bold techn-like vibe it has to it.

I learned about web design in this project. Having been a lad who has not done web design in his life, I saw how things worked and familiarized myself with the ins and out, tips/tricks, and shortcuts for designing a webpage. It is not professional, but it illustrates the desire I have to create, and creating based on my passions. I learned about how I cope with web design and learned that I enjoy it. It is not something I despise like some people. I would definitely be interested in learning more about Web Design in the near future. This webpage is stage one.
