For this vector poster project, I created a fully vectorized movie poster for "Detective Pikachu." The project encompassed several phases of design, from initial brainstorming and research to sketching, peer reviews, and final critiques, culminating in an original vector graphic poster.
Here are two drafts of my movie poster. The first draft has a more eccentric design and appeals to a younger audience. The second draft, shown at the bottom, features a more subdued design that might resonate more with adults due to its sophisticated elements. From the beginning, I aimed for a minimalistic aesthetic, and I wanted to acknowledge the movie's origins, which is why I incorporated Japanese typography. This influenced my decision to select the second design as my final choice.
This case study explores the detailed processes and key lessons from my poster project. It highlights the challenges I faced, the solutions I implemented, and the valuable insights I gained throughout the experience.
