Gaming Consoles Through the Ages
The Project
This was a motion infographic project I created on gaming consoles through the ages, beginning with the Atari 2600 and ending with the Xbox Series X. I am a gamer myself, but I don't feel like the majority of people can relate to modern gaming; but I have found that almost always anyone can relate to arcade games! I chose and 8-bit, arcade style theming to give it a fun and relatable feel. The color palette is primary, that which is most often found in arcade games, and there is a VHS-style, grain overly I created to simulate viewing the infographic through an old CRT television. I had an immense amount of fun making this.
The Inspiration
I was heavily inspired by arcades and arcade game style. I am an avid video gamer myself and have always been fascinated with all of the different consoles there were to offer. I was born in 2001 and have owned and played on just about everything; my first every console being my dad's Atari. My initial vision for the project was for it to be very pixelated, Dig-Dug, Galaga, arcade, style. I wanted it to feel like an old arcade game. My end result stayed pretty consistent with my original vision.
