For my poster project, I decided to go with a floral prom theme. I wanted it to look elegant and simple. However, I did not want it to look boring. I made sure to fill in the silhouette with a tree pattern to make it look more interesting, and I put a lot of work and research into my typography. My biggest issue was finding a balance between making the poster look interesting, and it being overwhelming. I fixed this issue by keeping the middle simple, but making an interesting and pretty boarder around the poster.
The biggest problem that I had while making my social media posts was that I kept overcomplicating it. I spent hours upon hours trying to make my posts unique, but I was struggling to make them relate to the posters. No matter how many images I pulled, no matter how many adjustment layers I used: nothing looked right. Then, in a last effort, I decided to keep them simple like the poster. I realized that the reason I was struggling so much was because I was trying to make the each of the social media posts look like a separate and new project, when all I needed to do was tie in elements from the poster.
