THE PORTAL
A short animated film on escapism. The magic of films is emphasised through this surreal animation transporting you into a movie screen as the marvel of sitting in a theater is brought to life. I created this project as a result of a viewing of an Oppenheimer screening. Every single pixel of the movie was electrifying the atoms of my body, coursing through my veins like an electric eel had just stung me, I was fused with the illusion. Films, episodics and books have been my refuge from reality my entire life and this animation is me paying homage to the medium I've decided to devote my life to.
The mosquito is the experience of an employee at the theater, who gets the magical experience of being transported into portals of mystical realms with every screen he steps into.
This animation was created on Autodesk Maya and I painted the 2D textures on Procreate.
