TALLY - Graphic User Interface

"TALLY" Graphic User Interface
Indie Video Game UI Project
A complete UI concept for a fictional, 2D platform game called "Tally". This set includes layout, backgrounds, basic UI elements, animations, and transitions designed for them. Settings Menu, Title Screen, and Gameplay Interface are shown below.
Tally is an arcade platform game that focuses on the story of the raven-tengu, Blackfeather. Traveling through lands with unusual scenery, the curious villager must learn the secret of the black color of all ravens and thus the loss of their former white plumage.
He begins his journey in his homeland, Lavender Grove. During the raven's journey, there will be previously unknown landscapes and strange creatures full of dangerous colors unknown to him before.
The Graphic User Interface focuses on the atmosphere of mystery and separation of the outside world. The colors are cold light-gray, dark graphite and specific purples, both in the classic shade and in a cold, bluer variant (lilies, lavender, wisteria, periwinkle).
These subdued colors are accompanied by bright, golden-yellow accents, additionally emphasized by the glowing effect. A contrast between sharp, geometric shapes and jagged, tool-like traces was also applied here, as well as in selection of typefaces. The decorative, brush-like Sanstuy Brush typeface and the simple, sans-serif Outfit typeface were used. The user interface combines modern design solutions (sharp edges, angular shapes, minimalism) with a loose, slightly drawing or painting style.
Additionally enhanced by animations and their sound, which adds even more mystery, anxiety, strangeness and curiosity about the unknown, the main sound samples are the voices of ravens and wind chimes.
I decided on this type of fictional world due to my weakness for dreamlike and surrealist motifs. Playing with my favorite color palette (combining black, white and some color accent) and majestic birds such as ravens allowed me to create this new reality.
Although I prefer RPG games, the choice of platform game for this project was inspired by titles such as Journey, GRIS, or Ori and the Blind Forest, which were a fascinating, highly immersive experience for me that I wanted to recreate in my own way and pass on to other players.
