Helvetica Typography Specimen Poster
Poster Design + Typography Study
Overview
Typography study on the Swiss typeface "Helvetica", as well as the "Helvetica Neue" typeface family. The typeface was created by Eduard Hoffman in response to the competitive Swiss market, in search for a typeface that wasn't truly authentic but rather neutral and legible as display text. Incidentally, it is said that when starting to design Helvetica, Hoffman began with the word "Hamburger," which contains the complete range of character attributes in the alphabet.
The final poster was printed in inkjet at 36" x 48".
