This poster was created for a project intended to demonstrate design capabilities of replicating design styles through the combination of digital and practical media. The subject was required to be an artist/musical act of our choice, and I chose to create a poster for the album, "Metropolis: the Chase Suite" by Janelle Monáe using the style of Bauhaus. The album itself draws heavy visuals from futuristic, sci-fi aesthetics to tell a story of love and identity under an authoritarian state.

The tangible medium— although not immediately noticeable— is in the background. I used a photo of a misdeveloped polaroid I had tried to take of my cat the night before. It felt wrong to waste film no matter how useless, so I used it in my project instead which was the right choice as it lended to balance the color palette of the poster.
