The project draws inspiration from David Shannon's book "A Bad Case of Stripes," where the protagonist, Camilla, undergoes multiple transformations. These transformations reflect her struggle with self-acceptance and societal conformity. Initially, Camilla develops a bad case of stripes because of her fear of standing out, leading her to transform into different objects in an attempt to fit in and please others. However, through her journey, she learns the importance of embracing her true self and accepting her uniqueness. The project aims to capture the textures depicted in the storybook through computerized knitted structures, highlighting the themes of self-expression and individuality.
