This editorial almost didn't happen. This shoot was the last leg of my shooting rampage. I shot four large shoots in three major cities in less then two weeks. I put my self to the test and pushed harder then I ever have before. For those who don't know about my process of photography I don't just show up to a shoot. When I do a shoot I take control of every aspect of it from start to finish. From the model selection to the entire production staff: hair, styling, make up, photog assistants, video crew, and locations. I even go shopping with the Stylist to make sure they not only see the vision but feel the energy of the concept of the shoot. Everything must be in a harmonious balance for the imagery to come out right. A shoot is only as strong as it's weakest point and I work diligently with my team to make sure one does not exist. For this editorial for Chic Metropolitan Magazine I had to change the date last minute. I did not have any clothing, shoes, not even a stylist or anything pertaining to fashion for a fashion shoot until the day before the shoot. Now this would usually be end game for a Fashion editorial. What I always say is a photo shoot is not dead until the photographer says it's dead. This insane complexity of pulling together a whole styling was given to Chad Tucker who baptized by fire. Not only survived the ordeal but together we thrived as we found amazing clothing and even set up new locations. The team I had for this shoot was everything I mentioned above and more! We shot the mid day summer sun on one of the hottest days in South Florida. Heat exhaustion, sweat, getting stuck in the canal at low tide and the burning deck of the boat did not stop us as we pushed on to the next leg of our shoot. At a mansion with no power no running water, still we pushed on... No matter all these obstacles we kept the mood very upbeat optimistic and created some stunning visuals that might be my best. Next time you look at an image think to yourself what is the story behind the image, where it all started and where the photography is trying to take you....
