LYRIC POSTER
SUMMARY
This project was centered on typography, and deciding to use BTS' song titled "Heartbeat" for this project. I only had a week to complete this project and with only some knowledge and skills with Photoshop, I was determined to step out of my comfort and tried to make it look eye-catching as possible. This project helped me gain more skills in Photoshop, learning how to focus more on the pen tool.

DESIGN PROCESS
Gathering Inspiration
My first process is finding inspirations for the theme of my project. I looked through many different sources that were associated with K-pop. I was seeing a lot of aura themed K-pop posters, it seemed like it was the trend at the moment so I decided to do the same. I got most of my inspirations on Twitter and Pinterest since that's where I'm mostly exposed to the latest K-pop aesthetic trends. My main goal with this project was to step out of my comfort zone and create a more eye-catching poster rather than a simple typography poster.
Sketches
One of the main challenges I faced during this project was the many layout and framework structures I had in mind. I sometimes struggle with layouts of elements since I always want to add so many things in one project, but I reminded myself I was going for a more simple type of feel but still giving it that magical feeling of the song. I started with different variations of the layout, creating rough drafts and figuring out the color scheme and type font I wanted to use.
Revisions
Now it was time for me to make my rough drafts into reality. I began with the background, adding the blurred heart in the center of the poster just like how I was inspired by the other K-pop posters. I went for a pink themed for this project since it best represents love and destiny which is the meaning behind the song. For the typography, I went for a more handwritten feel, because I'd like to think that the song is a written love song. I also added a grainy overlay to give it that vintage feel.
Final Design
I had a lot of fun with this project. I was able to sharpen my typography skills, learning more on which font combos are best. Also thinking outside of the box with placing and shaping the text was something I'm content with when creating this project. The typeface, images, and color scheme were all thoughtfully chosen to be aesthetically pleasing and unified, while the backdrop was given a grainy and blurry effect to suit the vibe I was going for which was dreamy and ethereal.
