     Things like mass consumption, virtual reality, cyberspace, visual effects, tourism, video games, the internet and the cinema have assisted in the merging of real space and simulated space. Therefore, the construction of Natural and Artificial tensions was a key intent for this charcoal piece. I recalled the memory of a homemade boardwalk from my childhood in the swamps to set up compositional relationships between Naturalism and Artificiality as well as Decay and Replacement. Also, an important characteristic is the relationships between interiority and exteriority. These compositional dynamics are a metaphor for the question "Is Realism a Projection?"
