Typographic Character Combinations

Experimenting with different typographic combinations and joinery techniques encourages creative problem-solving skills. It helps me understand how different typographic characters interact with each other, both visually and conceptually. It also pushes myself to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to visual challenges.
Most of design that I made is mainly associated with myself. In this work, I've put elements of my identity into the design, with the 'T' representing my first initial and the '7' symbolizing my birthdate. Before arriving at this final, I experimented with various typefaces to find the perfect combination. Ultimately, I picked a design that stays true to its essence, maintaining clarity and originality in its form. This design choice prioritized originality, ensuring each character retained its individuality while harmonizing effortlessly. What drew me in further was the dynamic interplay of positive and negative space.
Baskerville Regular.
The serif typeface in this design evokes sophistication and a touch of elegance.
Morpheus.
This design shows more individuality and a sense of rebellion.
Franklin Gothic Demi.
This one is my favorite, boasting a simple yet powerful style that radiates uniqueness.
These are the sketches where it all begins! I really enjoy this process of doing it by hand as it affords me greater flexibility to refine position, scale, and color.
