Triplex Model Shoe
In this project I have been tasked with creating a 1:1 replica of a shoe using a triplex board. The materials allowed were triplex board, super glue, cutting knife and masking tape. This project was to be done within 1 week
Activity 1: Full Model Shoe
While making the replica I started with the base of the shoe and slowly built upwards with each individual piece of the shoe. I use the masking tape to get accurate measurements of the original shoe and traced them onto the triplex board. I then used the cutting knife to cut out the shapes then used the super glue to stick them together and form the shoe. The challenges I faced in this process was getting the measurements of the curved parts of the shoe and the having to replicate it on the project. The most challenging thing was having patience but it led to learning with trial and error
Activity 2: Half Model Shoe
While making the half model shoe I started with the base then moved my way up to the sides. This model in itself was easier to make since there was less to work with but I still faced some problems. The challenge with this model was getting the upper half to curve without a support structure which was overcame with a bit of force, pressure and bending methods
Activity 3: Mold Shoe Model
This model was a bit tricky to make. The experience from the previous models made the crafting process easier but the tricky part was getting to invert what was essentially the half shoe to create the mold but all that was required was just patience
