TRIPLEX MODEL SHOE
This task required me to create a 1:1 replica of any chosen shoe or complex piece of footwear using white triplex board only.
Activity 1: Full Shoe Model
To start off with the process I stuck masking tape onto the reference shoe and traced the outline of each panel of the shoe to make a template for the triplex shoe. I then took the masking tape off and transferred it onto the triplex board, I was then able to cut out each part of the shoe that would allow me to construct the triplex shoe.
After I had cut out the pieces needed to construct the triplex shoe model I then put the pieces together using superglue. Once the base of the shoe was complete I then started to add the fine details to the shoe.
ACTIVITY 2: HALF SHOE MODEL
In this phase I was task to create a sectional half view of the reference shoe.
ACTIVITY 3: TOOLING BLOCK
In this task I was assigned the task of creating a mold for the half shoe.
CONCLUSION
This project was a major learning curve for me, this was my first time working with triplex which in turn lead to a lot of mistakes been made. However, as time went on, I figured out how to work with the material as soon I started to enjoy this project.
