TRIPLEX MODEL SHOE

TRIPLEX MODEL SHOE
This task required us to test our prototyping skills, by building a 1:1 triplex replica of one of our shoes

ACTIVITY 1: FULL MODEL SHOE
PROCESS PHOTOS
PROCESS DESCRIPTION
During this project, I used light scoring, water mist and glue to try and achieve the shape and detail of my shoe. To help the bending process without damaging the triplex, was challenging, I sprayed the light scoring on certain pieces with water mist, wrapped it around something circular and let it dry overnight. The overall effect was worth it.

ACTIVITY 2: HALF SHOE
PROCESS PHOTOS
PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Reusing the templet from activity 1, still using light scoring and water mist to help bend the triplex in a more natural way.
Also, better attention to detail and shaping, (in my opinion).
FINAL OUTCOME
ACTIVITY 3: MOULD SHOE
PROCESS PHOTOS
PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Didn't use as much mist water than activity 1 and 2, can be seen in bends of the shoe. Lots of super glue supports to maintain my desired shape and not the object's... Used a slightly thicker triplex sheet for the box, need a sharper, bigger knife for cleaner, straighter cuts.
